LAST GAME

ODU set a new program-high for points scored in regulation at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Old Dominion got double figure scoring from six players and dominated the boards from start to finish as they beat Longwood University (0-3), 98-59.

ODU's 98 points was the most scored since the Monarchs put up 96 against Hofstra in the 2006-07 season and was just four points shy of the building high overall. ODU scored 102 in an overtime loss to Charlotte in 2003.

ODU, dominated the glass for the entire game. The margin at halftime was +17 and by the final buzzer, ODU held a 48-30 advantage in rebounding. Kent Bazemore led the way with a career-high nine boards.

On Sunday, The Monarchs opened the regular season with a 69-38 victory over Bethune-Cookman. Gerald Lee and Kent Bazemore each scored ten points each for ODU as all 11 Monarchs who played scored. ODU's defense, which ranked 19th nationally last year picked up where it left off, holding BC to just 15 second half points. ODU outrebounded BC 39-22, and committed only nine turnovers. ODU won both of their exhibition games.
