OFF THE BENCH
Virginia leads the series, 9-4... The two last played in the 2007-08 CBI quarterfinal in Charlottesville. UVA won that game, 80-76. Previous to that meeting the two schools Had not played since the 1995-96 season. ODU's last win over the Cavaliers was a 76-699 decision in 1993-94 in the Norfolk Scope Arena. Both of Virginia's losses this year have been to fellow CAA members Delaware and George Mason.
LAST GAME Four Monarchs scored in double figures led by DeShawn Painter with 15 and Donte Hill with 11, but Adjehi Baru recorded a game-high 20 points to lead College of Charleston to a 76-65 victory. It was ODU's ninth consecutive loss. C of C shot .531 from the field (.615 in the second half). Monarch freshmen Keenan Palmore and Deion Clark both scored 10 points for ODU. The Monarchs came up with 12 steals led by Palmore and Clark who had three each. The Monarchs played without senior Nick Wright who was ill. NOTE ODU's nine-game losing streak is one shy of the school's Division I mark of ten set during the 1986-87 season. The overall single season mark is 14 set in 1941-42 season.
