Monarchs Come Up Short at William & Mary, 72-62






WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) (Feb. 17) -- Jim Moran scored 16 points to lead William & Mary to a 72-62 win over Old Dominion on Saturday night.

The Tribe (10-15, 6-8 Colonial Athletic Association) got 14 points from forward Mike Johnson, 13 from Adam Duggins and 12 from Sherman Rivers.

William & Mary shot 52% from the field in the first half and had a 10-point lead at the half. The Tribe sank a blistering 70% of their field goals after intermission, compared to 40% for the Monarchs.

Old Dominion (11-15, 6-7) was paced by Ricardo Marsh with 17 points and Troy Nance contributed a dozen.

The Tribe dominated the boards, grabbing 25 defensive rebounds. The Monarchs had 14.
