Bruce Stewart is in his fourth year as Associate Athletics Director at Old Dominion University where he spearheaded the Monarchs revival of the football program. Stewart also serves as the primary administrator of six additional ODU sports programs and oversees the functional areas of Strength & Conditioning, Equipment Operations, Events and Facilities.

Stewart joined Old Dominion after a nine-year stint at Coastal Carolina University, in which he served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director. Prior to his promotion, he was the Associate Athletic Director of Finance. He played a key role in helping the Chanticleers add football as a varsity sport at the university as the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Stewart held numerous other responsibilities in his first four years at Coastal Carolina. During his tenure, he was the administrator for several of the school's athletic fund-raising events and was an integral part of the game management and promotions for the department. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Wall College of Business, teaching a business law course.

Stewart attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, earning his bachelor of arts in psychology in 1994. He furthered his educational training at The Ohio State University by completing a J.D./M.A. degree program, a four-year program that combined studies in law with sport management. While completing his law and master's degree, he was published in The Journal of Sport Management and The Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport. He was a three-sport standout in high school at the Columbus Academy, competing in football, basketball and track.
