Football Monarchs Honored For Dean's List Performance

13 Monarchs Earned Dean's List Honors For 2011 Fall Semester; 30 Monarchs Achieved Semester GPA of 3.0 or Higher

Charles Walls is in his first season as a graduate assistant after serving as a student assistant the last two seasons.

A member of the Monarch roster for Old Dominion's inaugural season in 2009, he moved to the sidelines after an injury cut short his playing career. Walls appeared in ODU's first two games in 2009, making appearances against Chowan and Virginia Union as an offensive lineman.

He joined the Monarchs from nearby Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach were he was a Second Team All-Beach District honoree in 2006 and 2007. At Tallwood, Walls recorded 23 pancake blocks in seven games as a senior and 32 during his junior year.

The son of Vernon and Monica Battle, Walls majored in business management and plans to attend law school.
