KAUAI, HI-- ODU sophomore John Murphy (Wilton, CT.) and junior Jeffery Long (Centreville, VA.) finished tenth and 11th respectively to lead the Monarchs to fifth place at the Kauai Collegiate Cup in Hawaii. Murphy shot a 76 on the final round to finish at 220, while Long shot a team best 71 to finish at 222.

Seth Norman (Virginia Beach, Va.) )finished with a 231 to tie for 26th spot. As a team ODU shot 900. Vanderbilt won the event with an 855 and Johnson Hudson of Vanderbilt was the individual champion at 210. He sot a 63 on the final round. ODU's best rounds of the tournament was a 293 in the second and 295 in the third.

Murphy had the Monarchs best individual round of 70 in the second round. The Monarchs return to action on March 28-30 at the Furman Invitational.
