Monarchs Tied For Second at CAA's After Second Round

WILMINGTON, DE- Led by the play of freshman Jamison Randall (Cumberland, RI.), Tom Wilde (Bucks, England) and senior Neil Henderson (North Berwick, Scotland) the ODU Monarch Golfers moved into a tie for seond after two rounds of the CAA Golf Championships at the Wilmington Country Club. ODU is tied for second with Georgia State, both at 597 after 36 holes. The Monarchs shot 290 today, second only to Delaware's 289. UNCW leads the tournament by just one stroke over ODU and Georgia State, while George Mason is four strokes back in fourth place. Randall shot 70 today and is in third place with a 145, five strokes back of Clubhouse leader Greg Matthias of Delaware who shot 68 today. Randall birdied seven holes today. Tom Wilde birdied three holes is tied for fourth with Kevin Yerks of George Mason at 146, six strokes back after firing a 71 today. Neil Henderson, who shot 85 yesterday came in with a 73 today for a two-day total of 158 with the help of three birdies, and moved up 10 spots to 44th. Garth McGee is tied for 25th and John Dawson 32nd after both shooting 76 in today's second round. ODu will be looking to win its third CAA crown and first since 2007.The final round is Sunday.
