Randall And Dawson Lead ODU To Third After Two Rounds In the OBX

POWELLS POINT, NC--ODU sophomore Jamison Randall (Cumberland, RI.), and junior John Dawson (Chesapeake, VA.) each shot 71 today to lead the ODU Monarch golfers to third place after two rounds of the ODU-Outerbanks Collegiate at the Kilmarlic Golf Club today. Georgia Southern leads the event by five strokes with a two-day score of 577. This is the third year at Kilmarlic and 33rd overall year on the Outerbanks of North Carolina. Individually, Weston Eklund of Radford is tied for the lead with Georgia Southern's Scott Wolfes at 137 for 36 holes and seven under par. Eklund shot 64 today which is one shot shy of the course record. Yesterday, Wolfes shot a 66. ODU's Jamison Randall is only four strokes back at 141 and three under par.
Radford shot a blistering 283 today to move from fifth place on Sunday to second at 582, five strokes behind Georgia Southern. The Eagles shot 287 followed by ODU at 288 today and the Monarchs are only six strokes back. Eklund (sister of ODU freshman Lauren Eklund on the women's golf team) leads the tournament with 13 birdies, followed by ODU's Randall with 12 and Georgia Southern's Wolfes with 11. ODU's Thomas Wilde and Richmond's Colin McDade are tied for the lead with 27 pars thus far.
ODU's John Dawson and freshman Ashton Newsom (Chesapeake,VA.) are both tied for 15th at 147 for 36 holes. The tournaments final round is Tuesday.
