Wilde And Henderson Earn All-CAA Honors

RICHMOND, VA-- ODU junior Thomas Wilde (Berkshire, England) and senior Neil Henderson (North Berwick, Scotland) were selected to the CAA Golfers All-Conference team by the league's head coaches. Wilder was named first team and Henderson was selected to the second team.
Wilde, who tied for eighth at the CAA Championships also garnered an eighth place at ODU's Outerbanks Invitational in the fall as well as a fourth place at Pinehurst in the Spring. Wilde had a 72.3 stroke average in the Fall and 73.3 in the spring.
Henderson tied for eighth at Maryland, 10th at ODU/Outerbanks Invitational and 12 at the Joe Agee Invitational in the fall with a 72.6 stroke average. In the Spring, Henderson tied for fifth at the Caribbean Intercollegiate and C&F Bank Intercollegiate. Henderson's fall scoring average was 72.6 while in the Spring he compiled a 74.8 stroke average.
As a team, the Monarchs finished third at the CAA Championships along with a second at Joe Agee, third at ODU/Outerbanks and fourth at Maryland in the Fall. In the Spring season Murray Rudisill's Monarchs won the Pinehurst Tournament, took second at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, fourth at the Caribbean Intercollegiate and seventh at Jacksonville. In all, ODU finished tenth or better in 11 tournaments and seven of those were top five finishes.
UNCW junior Thomas Bass was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Year.Also earning top honors from the conference were Georgia State's Davin White as CAA Rookie of the Year and the UNCW's Matt Clark as CAA Coach of the Year.
