NORFOLK, VA-- Stan Guerrero (Tijuana, Mexico) shot a 36-hole score of 134 to win the USGA qualifying sectional tournament at Sinking Vallley Country Club in Altoona, PA. He now advances to the USGA Amateur Championships at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA, August, 20-26.

The rising senior shot a 69 and a 65 to edge out Robert Rohanna by a stroke.

Guerrero earned All-CAA, and All-State honors as he compiled a 72.7 stroke average this past season. He tied for second at the Raines tournament,fifth at Mission Inn and sixth at the CAA Championships.

Guerrero, the team MVP helpd lead the Monarchs to the CAA title and a bid to the NCAA regionals.
