CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA--Brian Ownby scored two goals and Ross Labauex added another as The University of Virginia defeated Old Dominion 3-0 in an exhibition match at Klockner Stadium. The Monarchs open the regular season on Friday (Aug. 29) against SMU in the UVA Soccer Classic.

With a little over 16 minutes into the match, Ownby got a pass from Tony Tchani and punched It in from 12yards out.Labauex scored a minute later on a header off a cross from Ownby and Tony Tchani. The Cavs final goal game in the second half by Ownby with an assist from Karter Smith.

Nane Joseph and Dylan Montombo each had one shot on goal for ODU.

The Monarchs return to action on Friday again in Charlottesville when they open regular season play in the UVA Soccer Classic against nationally ranked SMU on Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. and nationally Ranked St. John's on Aug.31.
