NORFOLK, VA--ODU junior forward Daniel Lidster (Burke, Va.) scored his first goal of the season with 5:09 left in the second overtime to give ODU a 1-0 victory over Northeastern Saturday night.

Tonight was the final regular season home game for ODU seniors Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, VA.), Adam Roscioli (Burke, VA.) and Harry Gillespie (Jensen Beach, Fl.).

After a Tommy Webb shot was deflected, Lidster got the rebound and scored the game winning point to keep the Monarchs in the hunt for the CAA Tournament. ODU is now 8-6-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the CAA. Northeastern is 5-8-3 overall and 3-4-3 in the CAA.

ODU outshot Northeastern, 16-12 overall, while the Huskies had seven shots on goal to the Monarchs six. ODU's senior Evan Newton had six saves and Lidster himself also made a big save in the overtime period on a shot by Don Anding.

Yannick Smith led ODU with five shots and two on goal, while Gideon Asante had three shots and Lidster two. Don Anding led Northeastern with six shots, five on goal.

In CAA action tonight, George Mason defeated Georgia State, 3-0; William and Mary tied Hofstra 0-0;JMU defeated Drexel, 2-0; and Delaware defeated UNC Wilmington, 1-0. VCU and Towson play on Sunday. ODU is still tied with George Mason and Delaware with 14 points each.

ODU travels to Drexel on Nov. 6th. for the regular season finale.
