The ODU Soccer Monarchs finished the 2012 Fall campaign with an 11-3-3 record advancing to their third straight and ninth NCAA Tournament in the last 11 years under head coach Alan Dawson.

During the season, the Monarchs knocked off second ranked Creighton along with 25th ranked Central Florida. On Sept. 18th, the Monarchs climbed to fourth nationally by Soccer America. Seven Monarchs - Tim Hopkinson, Chris Harmon, Jordan LeBlanc, Alex De John,Victor Francoz, Gideon Asante and freshman Ryan Condotta were named All-CAA. Harmon, Francoz, LeBlanc and Hopkinson earned NSCAA All-region Honors. Last week, Jordan LeBlanc, Alex De John and Yannick Smith were selected in the MLS Supplemental draft.

In 16 seasons at ODU, Dawson has amassed 182 career wins and 311 overall in 25 total seasons as a collegiate head coach. Four former Monarchs played in the MLS this past season.

They were Carlos Mendes (ODU '01) of the Columbus Crew, goalkeeper Evan Newton (ODU' 11) of the San Jose Earthquake, midfielder Nane Joseph (ODU'10) of the Colorado Rapids and two-time CAA Defender of the Year David Horst ('07) of the Portland Timbers.
