NORFOLK, VA-- The defending CAA Champion ODU Soccer Monarchs host American University in an exhibition match Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in the ODU Soccer Stadium.

The Monarchs return eight starters from last year's squad that reached the NCAA round of 16 for the second straight year. Leading the Monarch returnees are All-CAA selections Trevor Banks (Sr, MF, 6 gls, 3 ast), Evan Newton (Jr., GK, 0.63 GAA, 11 shutouts), Ambane Emmanuel (jr. F, 5 gls,), T.J. Beaulieu (So.,F, 3 gls) and Joseph Nane (Sr, MF, 2gls, 3 ast.).

American will be led by sophomore forward Daniel Shannon (3gls, 2 ast), as well as All-Patiot League defenders Cameron Petty and Karsten Smith.

After Wednesday's match, the Monarchs will travel to the University of Virginia for an exhibition on Aug. 23 at 7.p.m.
