NORFOLK, VA. (Sep. 27, 2000) -- The Monarchs of Old Dominion University lost to 17th ranked North Carolina, 4-0 in men's soccer Wednesday night. The Tar Heels are 7-2, while the Monarchs drop to 2-4-1.

Michael Bucey started the scoring with a goal 3:29 into the match. Ten Minutes later Caleb Norcus made it 2-0 for the Tar Heels, and with 9:15 left in the first half, Chris Carrieri scored to make it 3-0. The final UNC score came with 25:30 left by Sean McGinty.

North Carolina outshot the Monarchs, 14-7 and registered their fourth shutout of the season. The Monarchs return to action when they host George Mason Saturday night in a CAA contest. Game time is 7 p.m.
