NORFOLK - On a team with players from seven states and six foreign countries, a little local knowledge can go a long way.

Ryan Oakes is happy to oblige. The junior defender from Virginia Beach is something of a 757 guide for teammates on the Old Dominion soccer team.

"They know the area, but they don't know the area, so I can just show them around a little bit," he said.
