Men's Soccer Ties VCU In Double OT
Richmond, VA (Oct. 21) - The Old Dominion men's soccer team tied CAA foe Virginia Commonwealth, 2-2, on Oct. 21. Old Dominion now has a record of 8-4-2, 5-0-1 CAA. VCU is now 6-6-3. Freshmen Jared Kent (Marietta, GA) and Chad Denton (Va. Beach, VA) tallied the first two goals of the game as the Monarchs jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead. The Rams would rally to tie the game in the final 20 minutes of regulation, however, and both teams went into overtime tied at 2-2. In two overtime periods, the Rams outshot Old Dominion 10-1, but could not beat Monarch goalie Sam Cameron (Raleigh, NC), who made eight saves on the night?including three in overtime. Old Dominion will return to action on Oct. 28 when they travel to CAA foe James Madison.
