NORFOLK, Va. - No. 67 Old Dominion University men's tennis put forth a solid effort Sunday afternoon to defeat Temple 6-1 at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.

The Monarchs started off strong by earning the doubles point to begin the match.

Carlos Lopez Vill and Can Cetinel made quick work of Nicolas Paulus and Sam Rundle at No. 1 doubles, winning 8-0.

Tim Schweig and Wesley Barrett clinched the doubles point for ODU with an 8-4 win at No. 2.

In singles action, No. 1 singles player Lopez Villa stayed unbeaten at 8-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Kacper Rams.

In his first match at No. 2, Dante Terenzio cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win while Wesley Barrett earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 3.

Tim Schweig delivered a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 5 while Zvonimir Podvinski was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at No. 6.

Santiago Canete picked up the Owls' only win with a hard fought 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 win at No. 4 over Jonas Kuwert.
