Philadelphia, PA -- The Old Dominion men's tennis team blanked the University of Pennsylvania, 7-0, at The Levy Tennis Pavilion. The Monarchs, who blanked their sixth opponent of the dual meet season, improve to 6-3 on the year.

The closest doubles match of the contest for the Quakers came at No. 1, where Penn senior Ryan Harwood and sophomore Anthony Pu pushed ODU's fourth ranked Zottan Csanadi (Timisora, Romania) and Izak van der Mewe (Kempton Park, South Africa) to a tiebreaker before falling, 9-8 (5). Senior Salmam Mohammed (Calcutta, India) and junior Niklas Oskarsson (Halmstad, Sweden) defeated Tood Lecher and Justin Lavner at No. 2 doubles, 8-4, and senior Patrik Binkowski (Orby, Sweden) and junior Calin Milos (Timisora, Romania) teammed for a No. 3 doubles win, 8-6, over the duo of Jimmy Fairbanks and David Lynn.

The Monarchs took home all six singles matches. Csanadi posted a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Harwood at No. 1 singles. Van der Merwe recorded at 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles against Lynn. Milos registered a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 match at No. 3 singles for the win over Kolker. Mohammed used a straight set, 6-4, 6-3 decision for a victory at No. 4 singles over Fritz. Binkowski took home a straight set, 6-0, 6-2 No. 5 singles win against Rubin and freshman Adriano Mello (Loundrina, Brazil) finished out singles play with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 6 position.

The Monarchs will return to action on Friday, February 21st when they take on their third straight Ivy League opponent. Old Dominion will host Dartmouth in Newport News, VA.
