Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision to Louisiana Lafayette

NORFOLK, Va. - Krzysztof Muzalewski and Wesley Barrett won singles matches for Old Dominion University men's tennis but it wasn't enough as the Monarchs fell to Louisiana Lafayette 5-2 Tuesday at the Folkes/Stevens Indoor Tennis Center. Muzalewski got ODU on the board first with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Carlin Murray while Barrett delivereda 7-6, 4-6 (10-3) victory over Damian Farinola. Fahoum Fahoum took Ted Nilsson to a tough three-set match at No. 5 singles before falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. In another tight match, Yanick Mandl fought off Carlos Lopez Villa 6-4, 7-6 at the No. 3 spot. The Ragin' Cajuns took the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 3 while Barrett and Can Cetinel defeat Mandl and Brandon Farine 9-8. The Monarchs are back in action Friday when they take on Memphis at 1 p.m. Louisiana Lafayette 5 Old Dominion 2
