#60 Monarchs Men's Tennis Falls To #63 Brown, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Old Dominion men's tennis team, ranked 60th in the lastest ITA Poll, fell to #63 Brown Friday night as the Bears defeated the Monarchs 5-2. The loss dropped the Monarchs overall record to 5-5 overall. Old Dominion captured points at No. 2 and No. 5 singles. Sophomore Henrique Cancado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) edged out Brown's Nick Goldberg in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6, at the No. 2 spot to improve to 14-8 overall this season. At No. 5 singles, Monarch freshman Rodrgio Souza (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) defeated Phil Charm, 7-6, 6-1.
The Monarchs return to action on Sunday visiting #19 Harvard. The Crimson will mark the sixth nationally ranked opponent Old Dominion will have faced this season.
