Monarchs Fall to Top Ranked Virginia, 8-0

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The Old Dominion tennis team lost its fourth straight when they dropped an 8-0 match to top-ranked Virginia on Friday. Junior Krzysztof Muzalewski had his nine-match winning streak snapped at No. 4 singles and ODU fell to 11-6 overall this season. Muzalewski faced #64 Houston Barrick at No. 4, as one of the Cavaliers seven nationally ranked singles players. The match was played with alternative scoring, including a seventh singles match, but ODU was unable to win a match. With the loss, Muzalewski is now 12-3 in duals this season, with an 18-8 mark overall. Benjamin Chomette stretched #27 Jarmere Jenkins to a third set, but was unable to complete the upset, falling, 6-2, 2-6, 6-0. He is now 12-5 for the Monarchs in duals this season. ODU returns to action on Sunday, as they face JMU in conference action as well as a non-conference match against UMBC. Results OLD DOMINION at #1 VIRGINIA Doubles:
