NORFOLK, Va. - No. 54 Old Dominion University men's tennis won their sixth-straight match with a 7-0 victory over Texas-San Antonio Saturday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

ODU improves to 10-3 on the year while UTSA drops to 6-6.

ODU won all nine matches on the day, starting with a sweep at doubles. No. 58 Can Cetinel and Carlos Lopez Villa battled to the wire with Martin Ayala and Diogo Casa, but ODU prevailed 9-8. Albert Ochagavia and Jonas Kuwert were 8-4 winners at No. 2 while Wesley Barrett and Tim Schweig cruised to an 8-2 win.

 

 

Lopez Villa stayed unbeaten with his 13th straight win with an 6-4, 6-3 win over Ayala at No. 1 singles. Ochagavia earned a hard fought 7-5, 7-5 triumph over Casa at No. 2.

Dante Terenzio recorded a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 while Barrett battled to a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 4.

Kuwert won a tight match at No. 5, 7-6, 2-6 (10-5) and Zvonimir Podvinski completed the sweep, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6.

The Monarchs return to action on Monday when they battle Virginia Tech at the Boonsboro Country Club in Lynchburg.
