No. 55 Men's Tennis Bounces Back, Throttles Illinois State, 7-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Old Dominion University men's tennis defeated Illinois State 7-0 Friday afternoon in Wilmington. With the win, ODU gets back on the winning track following their loss to Virginia Tech and improves to 11-4 on the year. ISU falls to 5-8 on the year. The Monarchs got off to a fast start by winning the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3. The No. 48 team of Can Cetinel and Carlos Lopez were 8-3 winners while Wesley Barrett and Tim Schweig clinched the point with an 8-2 win at No. 3. No. 120 ranked Lopez Villa ran his record to 14-1 with an 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 1 over Alexander Pelaez. Albert Ochagavia was a 6-3, 7-5 winner at No. 2 while Dante Terenzio grabbed an 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 3. Barrett produced his 10th win of the year with a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 4 while Kuwert notched a 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 5. Schweig improved to 4-0 in singles with a 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 come-from-behind win over Rodrigo Oliveira at No. 6. The Monarchs complete their spring break trip against No. 50 Yale on Sunday.
