Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University men's tennis team used four singles victories to defeat visiting St. John's 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.

The Red Storm captured the doubles point to begin the match by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 before the Monarchs earned an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play the Monarchs won at the first four positions with all victories coming in straight sets. Alexandr Seleznev defeated Artem Vlasenko 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1, while Eidy Igarashi earned a 6-4, 6-1 decision at No. 2 over Sasha Svetlakov. Tobias Fanselow and Rodrigo Souza also recorded victories at their respective positions.

The Monarchs return to action Saturday, April 12 when they'll host South Alabama.
