Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season on Sunday with a 5-2 loss to the 45th ranked University of Denver. It was also Senior Day for ODU's Eidy Igarashi and Rodrigo Souza who played in the final home match of their career.

The Pioneers opened the day by capturing the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. ODU rebounded to win at No. 3 where Matt Fawcett and Timo Gehrke defeated Kalle Rosen and Benny Althaus 8-6.

In singles action the two Monarch seniors combined for both of ODU's points on the afternoon. Igarashi defeated Niklas Persson 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2, while at No. 4 Souza downed Althaus in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 to improve to 26-9 on the season.

Next up for ODU is the CAA Tennis Championships which begin April 17 at Huntington Park Tennis Center in Newport News, Va.
