WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Tim Schweig reached the finals of D1 Singles while Albert Ochagavia and Carlos Lopez Villa won the backdraw at A1 doubles to lead Old Dominion University men's tennis this weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational.

Schweig advanced to the finals with some tough play, starting with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Liberty's Josiah Boda to advance to the second round where he defeated Richmond's Justin Baker, 6-4, 6-3.

In the semifinals, he knocked off UNC Greensboro's Camerson Smith, 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 before falling to Richmond's Dylan Trent, 6-4, 6-1.

Lopez Villa started off his weekend with a dominant win over No. 78 Andrew Mellow of Furman, 6-1, 6-2. He knocked off Wake Forest's Jon Ho in the second round, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 before falling to No. 94 Danny Kreyman of Wake Forest in a tough three-setter, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Dante Terenzio picked up a win over the weekend with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Davidson's Joe Schafer.

Senior Albert Ochagavia started with an 7-5, 6-4 win over Stuart Depaolo of North Carolina before falling to No. 55 Rafael Aita of UNCW, 6-1, 6-3. Ochagavia dropped a tough three-setter to Garrett Kunz of Davidson, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 before battling back with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Randy Phillips of UNCW.

Wesley Barrett put together a solid showing with three wins in singles play, starting with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Elon's Juan Madrid. Barrett followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over UNCW's Pedro Mol, 6-4, 6-4. He dropped a three-set match to Kosta Blank of UNCW, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 but battled back for a 6-2, 6-3 win over North Carolina's Andrew Gores, 6-2, 6-3.

Sophomore Can Cetinel also put together three wins, starting with a 6-3, 6-2 win before a loss, but stepping up with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Connor Evins of Davidson and Taylor Meyer (UNC), 6-2, 6-1.

Lopez Villa and Ochagavia started doubles play with a tough 8-2 setback to the No. 57 team from UNCW, but stormed back with three-straight wins to win the backdraw.

Barrett and Terenzio were dominant at C-doubles, cruising to a pair of 8-1 victories for the bracket title.
