NORFOLK, VA -- Senior Salman Mohammed (Calcutta, India) captured the Flight B singles title and then teamed up with junior Niklas Oskarsson (Halmstad, Sweden) to take the Flight B doubles title in the final day of action at the East Coast Championship hosted by Old Dominion. Overall, the Monarchs took two singles and two doubles titles.

Junior Zoltan Csanadi (Timisoara, Romania) successfully retained his East Coast Championship title as the winner in the Flight A men's singles bracket. Following a 6-3, 6-2 semifinals semifinal victory over Josef Novotny of UMBC, Csanadi cruised to the title with a straight set, 6-1, 6-1 win over Virginia's Rylan Rizza.

Mohammed defeated two of his teammates to take the Flight B singles title. He defeated classmate Patrik Binkowski (Orby, Sweden) in the semifinals in a thrilling 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-3 match and followed with a finals victory over his doubles partner, Oskarsson, 6-4, 7-6 (4).

Mohammed and Oskarsson later teamed up for the Flight B doubles title. The duo reached the finals blanking Richmond's team of Derek Schwandt and Dan Scrafford, 8-0, and took home the championship with an 8-1 win over David Donn and Jeppy Moss of Richmond.

Sophomore Izak van der Merwe (Kempton Park, South Africa) and freshman Adriano Mello (Londrina, Brazil) captured the Flight A doubles title. The two defeated fellow Monarchs and top seeded Patrik Binkowski and junior Calin Milos (Timisoara, Romania), 8-6, and captured a 8-3 win over John Tully and Robert Wirth of CAA rival Delaware for the title.
