Lopez Villa, Ochagavia Lead ODU at ITA Atlantic Regionals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Albert Ochagavia and Carlos Lopez Villa advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles and to the round of 32 in singles at the ITA Atlantic Regional this weekend at the University of Virginia.
In doubles, the pair had a strong run, defeating a team from Virginia Tech 8-4 in the round of 32 before dispatching a team from Virginia, 8-5, to advance to the quarters. In the quarters they ran into the No. 1 seed from UVA and dropped a tough match, 8-3.
In singles action, Ochagavia opened with a 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 win over Liberty's Egon Samaii to advance to the round of 32 where he dropped a tough 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 match to William and Mary's Jamie Whiteford.
Lopez Villa began his singles run with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over the Tribe's Scott Huang where dropped a hard fought 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 match to Penn State's Bryan Welentz.
Wesley Barrett also advanced to the round of 32 in singles, picking up a pair of wins along the way. He cruised to an 6-1, 6-3 victory over Virginia's Johnny Cornish, 6-3, 6-1 before defeating Delawre's Troy Beneck 7-6, 6-0 to reach the round of 32. He fell to Virginia Tech's Andreas Bjerrehus 6-2, 6-3.
Podvinski delivered a 7-5, 6-2 win over Norfolk State's Zimitry Zymankovich while Cetinel knocked off Richmond's Jesse Feder 6-2, 6-3. Terenzio earned his victory over Pierre Brondeau of St. Joe's, 6-2, 6-1.
