ATLANTA, Ga. - Old Dominion University men's tennis begins the 2013 season on Friday traveling to Georgia Tech to take on the Yellow Jackets at 2:30 p.m. The Monarchs return to the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on Sunday for the home opener against Norfolk State at 1 p.m.

The Monarchs return their top four starters from a year ago and look to once again improve in head coach Aljosa Piric's second season as head coach.

Last season's team MVP Carlos Lopez Villa returns as well as senior captain Albert Ochagavia, Wesley Barrett, who led ODU in wins last season, and sophomore Can Cetinel.

ODU added several newcomers, including recent addition Jonas Kuwert, as well as Tim Schweig and Zvonimir Podvinski and transfers, Dante Terenzio and Darragh Glavin.

No. 59 Georgia Tech opened their 2013 campain last weekend in a dual tournament against Florida, Illinois and NC State.

The No. 3 doubles team of Juan Spir and Vikram Hundal went 3-0 while Juan Melian led singles players with a 3-0 mark while Spir, ranked No. 32, finished 2-1.

Norfolk State went 13-14 a year ago and return a pair of solid sophomores. Daniel Grauel tied for the team lead with 15 wins a year ago while Igor Braga finished with 13.
