Monarchs Topple George Washington, 6-1 in Late-Night Match
NEWPORT NEWS, VA (Feb. 3, 2001) -- The Old Dominion men's tennis team collected
a 6-1 win over George Washington in a late-night match at the Centre
Court Racquet Club Friday night. In a match that ended close to
midnight, the Monarchs were one singles match away from a clean sweep
of the Colonials.
Calin Milos (Timisoara, Romania) paced the Old Dominion attack with a 7-6, 6-1 win at #2 singles. Old Dominion, after losing first singles, won every other match. The Monarchs are currently 5-2 on the season. They will next play at Wake Forest Saturday at 1 pm. OLD DOMINION 6, GEORGE WASHINGTON 1
