VIRGINIA BEACH, Va (February 20, 2000) -- The 50th-ranked Old Dominion men's tennis team fell for the first time this season, losing to #51 Wake Forest, 4-1, Feb. 20 at the Princess Anne Tennis and Country Club in Virginia Beach. The Monarchs fell to 5-1 overall and remained 1-0 in the CAA.

Old Dominion dropped all three doubles matches, getting behind 1-0 before singles play began. Monarch Alexandre Cancado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) was the lone winner on the afternoon.

The Monarchs will next travel to defending CAA champion Va. Commonwealth Thursday for a 5 pm match-up.
