ATHENS, GA -- The Monarchs will play on at the University of Georgia in doubles tennis action at the NCAA Tournament. Scores reported on the University of Georgia Tournament website were incorrect following action on day two and sophomore Harel Srugo (Kibutz Gazit, Israel) and senior Henrique Cancado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) still remain among contenders in the doubles bracket. They will play the second seeded UVA team of Somdev Devvarman and Treat Huey on Friday at 6:00 pm. Live scoring is available at the tournament website on the University of Georgia athletics page, www.georgiadogs.com.

Cancado and Srugo, ranked the 15th best doubles team in the nation, dropped Notre Dame's Sheeva Parbhu and Ryan Keckley in three sets on day two. The Monarchs won 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 over the 31st ranked team in the nation. Srugo and Cancado will now face in-state rivals and the number two ranked team in the nation of Treat and Devvarman.

The teams have played eachother twice this season with the Monarchs suffering a loss in the first matchup. The two teams met again in the NCAA Team Tournament and in an unfinished match, Srugo and Cancado were tied 5-5 in the first set with the Cavaliers.

Friday's match is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
