Williamsburg, Va. - Three Old Dominion University men's tennis players were honored today as members of the 2007 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-State Team after leading the Monarchs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Henrique Cancado and Harel Srugo were named to the First Team in both singles and doubles, while sophomore Aleksandr Seleznev was named to the Second Team for his play in singles competition.

Srugo, who also garnered First Team All-State honors in 2006, was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after posting a singles record of 33-13, including a 17-8 mark at No. 1 in dual meets. He climbed as high as No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Poll during the season before finishing the year ranked No. 31.

The 76th ranked player in the country at season's end, Cancado recorded a singles record of 32-11 during the 2006-07 campaign. Competing at the No. 2 singles position for the Monarchs, he was 18-4 in dual meets, reeling off nine straight victories at one point during the year to earn First Team All-CAA honors. This is Cancado's second time being selected to the All-State Team following his appearance on the Second Team in 2006.

Together Srugo and Cancado were honored on the All-CAA First Team in doubles after posting a 27-7 record and advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Tournament. The duo finished the season ranked No. 13 in the country.

A Second Team All-CAA selection in both singles and doubles, Seleznev played to a singles record of 31-6 and a doubles mark of 16-12 this past season. He went 18-2 at No. 3 singles and 4-0 at No. 2 singles and at one point boasted an 11-match winning streak. His 6-2, 6-4 win over Virginia Tech's Nicolas Delgado helped the Monarchs capture their first ever NCAA Tournament victory.
