Men's Tennis Adds Kuwert for Spring Semester
Nov. 29, 2012
NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University men's tennis will add Jonas Kuwert in the 2013 spring semester, head coach Aljosa Piric announced Thursday. "We are excited to have Jonas join the Monarch family. He is a high level student-athlete, with passion to excel in both the classroom and on a tennis court. The combination of these two components make him an ideal recruit for the ODU tennis program. We look for him to be an immediate contributor in both singles and doubles," Piric said. Kuwert, a native of Jesteburg, Germany, was ranked as high as No. 10 in Germany in the under 18 range and reached No. 132 in the men's open division. "I decided to come to ODU because of all the great things coach Piric and Koning said over the last six months. They really gave me the feeling that they are motivated to help me with my game and bring it to a higher level," Kuwert said. "Their goals to reach the top of college tennis are in line with my goals and I look forward to being an ODU Monarch. Furthermore, I am looking forward to a new adventure, meeting new people and getting my degree."
