Monarchs Defeat Campbell 49-4

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Old Dominion won three matches by fall and another two by technical fall to earn a 49-4 wrestling win over Campbell University Thursday night at Carter Gym. John Dolida (Bridgewater, NJ) pinned Pruitt Rainey in the heavy weight match at the 3:46 mark to give ODU a 9-0 lead overall. B.J. Compton (Christiansburg, VA) then won the 133-pound bout by fall in 1:32 over Caleb Lesnoff. Old Dominion led 21-0 before Elliot Berger won the 141-pound match by downing Selas Douglas 9-0 (Lorton, VA). Hunter Davenport (Chesapeake, VA) and Nick Pullano (Chesapeake, VA) won the next two matches for ODU by technical fall to give the Monarchs 31-4 lead. John Adams (Chesapeake, VA) pinned Brian Hocum 2:46 into the 174-lb. bout for the fall victory. ODU won three more bouts - 125-lbs., 165-lbs. and 184-lbs. - by forfeit to claim the 49-4 victory. Old Dominion (7-4, 5-1 CAA) returns to the mat Sunday afternoon, when they host Hofstra at 1:00. ODU 49, Campbell 4:
