CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -The Old Dominion wrestling team dropped all three matches Saturday at the Virginia Quads, in Charlottesville, VA, to drop to 3-8 for the season. The Monarchs lost to the University of Virginia 25-14 to start off the action Saturday, then dropped matches to Virginia Tech (29-12) and Kent State (32-11) to end the event.

Against Virginia, Matt Ulrey (Commerce, MI) defeated Drew Michelotti by major decision, 15-5, in the 184 class; Adam Wright (Dayton, VA) won over Kevin Collier by a 7-3 decision in the 197 weight class and Derrell Lorthridge (Wilmington, DE) defeated Scott Smith by a 10-2 major decision in the Heavyweight class. In the second match of the day, against Virginia Tech, Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA) defeated Andrew Donofrio by a 12-6 decision in the 157 class, Adam Wright defeated Shaun Guttridge 4-2 at 184 and Derrell Lorthridge defeated Kris Wiedegreen, 3-1, in the Heavyweight class. In the third and final match of the day, against Kent State, Robby Gosnell (Warrenton, VA) defeated Nick Brenner 5-4 in the 165 weight class, Adam Wright defeated Adrian Ramadani 5-4 in the 184 class and Derrell Lorthridge defeated Willie Leonard by a 17-2 tech. fall at Heavyweight.

The Monarchs are back in action Wednesday night, February 4, when they travel to N.C. State, to make up the match that was cancelled last week due to the snowstorm in North Carolina. The meet begins at 7:30 PM.
