NORFOLK, VA -The Old Dominion wrestling team dominated their final home meet of the season, defeating the injury-riddled Delaware State Hornets 57-0 Sunday afternoon at the ODU Fieldhouse. Seniors Derrell Lorthridge (Wilmington, DE/Hwt), by a forfeit; Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA/165) by a pin (5:52); and Dennis Whitby (Lanoke Harbor, NJ/149) by a pin (0:57) all won their final home matches of their career. Chris Buckner (Chesapeake, VA/133) defeated Jerry Davis by a 17-0 tech fall, while Jason Earnhardt (Yorktown, VA) won over Walter Robeson with a 14-3 major decision.

Matt Ulrey (Commerce, MI) earned a pin over Marco Hall (1:53) in the 174 weight class, Adam Wright (Dayton, VA/184) defeated David Mears with a pin (3:33) and John Dolida, in the 197 weight class, defeated Joshua Keitt by a fall (1:07). Jared Smith (Newport News, VA/125) and Mike Davis (Herndon, VA/157) both won their matches by forfeit. The Monarchs close out their regular season Tuesday, February 24, against George Mason University, in Fairfax, VA.
