FAIRFAX, VA -The Old Dominion wrestling team won their final regular season dual of the year Tuesday night, defeating George Mason University 20-13 in Fairfax, VA. The Monarchs improve to 7-12 for the season and 5-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association, and have now won three straight duals. Jared Smith (Newport News, VA) defeated Ed Tan by a 8-7 decision in the 125 weight class, while Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA/157) defeated Mitch Webster by a 8-1 decision, John Adams (Chesapeake, VA/165) took a 11-8 decision over Matt Horton and Matt Ulrey (Commerce, MI/174) defeated Sean Early 4-3. In the 197 weight class, Adam Wright (Dayton, VA) earned a 19-4 tech fall over Harry Zander. Derrell Lorthridge (Wilmington, DE) defeated Ryan Kittrick by a 6-4 decision to ensure the Monarch victory. ODU returns to action March 5-6 for the CAA Championships, hosted by Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
