NORFOLK, VA - Old Dominion's Wrestling Monarchs (3-2-0) fell to no.21 University of Northern Iowa 34-6 before defeating the Citadel Bulldogs 22-13 Saturday afternoon at the Old Dominion Fieldhouse.

Senior Adam Wright went 2-0 on the day at 197 first beating the Panthers Andrew Anderson 7-3 before upending the Citadel's Mark Thompson 3-2. Senior Shanon Slack had an impressive day at 141 defeating Northern Iowa's Ryan Osgood by a 4-3 margin before dropping a tough battle to no. 15 Sean Markey of The Citadel 7-3. Freshman Ryan Williams beat his Citadel competitor Michael Arias by fall 55 seconds into the match at 133 pounds.

125: Freshman Bryan LaShomb had a near fall and a two takedowns against Seth Wright before getting pinned at 3:43.

133: Junior Michael Martin's escape and takedown against Chris Helgeson wasn't enough as he lost by fall at 2:34.

141: In one of the best matches of the day, senior Shanon Slack registered a 4-3 decision over Ryan Osgood.

149: Freshman Jeff Becker fell by major decision to Colby Geotsch 13-2.

157: Sophomore Nick Pullano fell to Chris Bitetto in a 2-10 decision.

165: Senior Nelson Gosnell was pinned by 8th ranked Nick Baima at 2:10.

174: Freshman Bryan Lenhardt fell to Curt Zinnel by major decision 17-6.
