NORFOLK, VA -The Old Dominion wrestling team is ranked 8th out of 11 teams with 13 points, according to the latest Colonial Athletic Association poll. Hofstra University remains the top ranked team with 45 points. In individual rankings, John Starkes (Chesapeake, VA) is ranked 6th in the 125 weight class, Chris Buckner (Chesapeake, VA) is 5th at 133, Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA) is 6th at 157, Adam Wright (Dayton, VA) is 3rd at 184 and Derrell Lorthridge (Wilmington, DE) is 2nd at Heavyweight.

Among the national pin leaders, according to InterMat, Dennis Whitby (Lanoke Harbor, NJ) is tied for 5th with six pins in the 149 class, while John Adams (Chesapeake, VA) is tied for 5th with four pins in the 165 weight class. The Monarchs are back in action Friday and Saturday, January 9-10, taking part in the Virginia Duals in Hampton, VA
