LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ --  Junior Adam Wright (Dayton, VA/Turner Ashby), the 184 pound starter for the Old Dominion wrestling team, was named Colonial Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday, the second time he has received the award this season.  Wright was also named CAA Wrestler of the Week November 23.  Freshman B.J. Compton (Christiansburg, VA/Christiansburg), the starter at 133, was also named CAA Wrestling Rookie of the Week for the second time, also earning the honor January 11.

Adam Wright won by fall and by a major decision in his two matches last week, leading ODU to victories over NC State and UNC-Greensboro.  The win over NC State was the first for the Monarchs since 1959.  Wright, the second ranked 184 in the CAA, recorded his 27th victory and improved to 12-2 in duals competition.

B.J. Compton won by fall and by tech fall in his two matches last week.  The third ranked 133 in the CAA, Compton collected his 32nd win overall of the season, tied for most in the CAA, and improved to 10-4 in duals.

The Monarchs, 9-5 for the season, will return to action Friday night, when they travel to Lexington, VA for a 7:30 match with Virginia Military Institute.  ODU returns home Sunday, February 13, when they host James Madison University during their annual Scholarship Match.
