Feb. 18, 2009
Complete Release in PDF Format NORFOLK, Va. -- The ODU Monarchs, ranked in the Top 20 will face the 14th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies in the final home match of the year on Thursday, February 19 at 7:30 pm. It will be the first ever match against a pair of Top 20 teams at the Constant Center as the Hokies travel into Norfolk. ODU holds a 21-9 all-time lead in the series, but it will be the first time the two have ever matched up while both are nationally ranked. Both won their conference regular season title last weekend with perfect 5-0 campaigns in the ACC and Colonial. ODU is 15-6 overall and 5-0 in the CAA, while Virginia Tech is 20-1 overall and 5-0 in the ACC. Tech hasn't lost since they faced #4 Nebraska last month on a neutral mat and is 2-0 against nationally ranked programs this season. ODU is 2-6 this season against ranked teams. Scouting The Hokies:
