LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -Old Dominion University Redshirt Senior Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA), the Monarchs starter in the 157 weight class, was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Wrestler of the Week for all competition the final week of the dual meet season. Adam Wright (Dayton, VA) was named CAA Co-Wrestler of the Week two weeks ago, along with GMU's Adrian Austin.

Pearce, currently the fourth-ranked wrestler in the CAA, defeated George Mason University's Mitch Webster last Tuesday, February 24, in Fairfax, VA, by a 8-1 decision, to improve his season mark to 24-8 overall and 6-2 in CAA dual action. The 24 wins mark the most wins in Pearce's collegiate career.

The Monarchs are preparing for the CAA Championships this weekend, March 5 and 6, held at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. The competition begins Friday, March 5, at 10:00 AM and continues Saturday at 10:00 Am. The semi-finals are 12 noon Saturday, and the finals are 6:00 PM. The CAA Championship Tournament will send 25 wrestlers on to the NCAA National Championships in St. Louis, MO March 18-20.
