Albany, NY-Old Dominion's fifth-seeded wrestler Jeff Rusak (Reading, PA) was upset in the first round of the NCAA Wrestling Championships by VMI's Matt Erwin today. It is the first defeat of the season for Rusak, who must now compete in the wrestle-back brackets to place at the championships.

Rusak had defeated Erwin, ranked 17th nationally, earlier this season at the Virginia Intercollegiate Championships. He will take on Pat Owens of Boise State next in the consolation brackets.

Competition will continue tomorrow and wrap up on Saturday.
