NORFOLK, VA -Old Dominion University assistant wrestling coach Carlos Eason will attempt to make the U.S. Olympic Team when he travels to the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, IN May 21-23 when he participates in the U.S. Final Olympic Trials, in the 211.5 pound freestyle category.

Eason qualified for the Final Olympic Trials by winning the North Regional Trials, held March 12-14 in St. Joseph, MN.

The winner of the Final Olympic Trials tournament will face the highest placing contestant from the 2004 National Championships in a best two-out-of -three format the day after the Final Olympic Trials tournament at the Final Olympic Team wrestle-off. Final nominations for this year's Olympic Team will be made no later than July 11.

Eason just completed his fifth season as the Monarchs assistant wrestling coach. The Chesapeake native came back to the region after a stellar collegiate career at Cornell.
