ODU Wrestling Brings In Yet Another Top 20 Recruiting Class

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. - Head Coach Steve Martin and the Old Dominion wrestling program has brought in its sixth consecutive Top 20 recruiting class as InterMat has released its 2010 rankings. The wrestling Monarchs rank No. 16 on this year's list. In the last six years, Martin has brought in four recruiting classes ranked in the Top 10 (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009) and two classes ranked just outside the Top 15 (No. 16 in both 2007 and 2010). "The coaching staff is pleased to bring in a great group of talented young men both on and off the mat," said Martin. "We are very excited to help these individuals obtain degrees and championships." Old Dominion is coming off a season where it won the CAA regular season title and produced three NCAA qualifiers. At the NCAA Tournament senior Chris Brown earn NCAA All-American status, ODU's third straight year with an All-American. The Monarchs graduated four seniors at years end, including three starters. "We had a priority to fill many needs at several weight classes and we accomplished that goal with this class," Martin explained. "It's very important to compete against the Big 10 and Big 12 programs head-to-head for these athletes as we continue to grow into a national power.
