VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Several memebers of the Old Dominion University wrestling team participated over the weekend in this year's United Way Day of Caring community service project.

The ODU wrestlers pulled weeds, cut grass and helped clean houses for the elderly and disabled in Virginia Beach.

Day of Caring was established in 1991 to promote the spirit of volunteerism, increase awareness of local human service organization and demonstrate how people working together for the common good can accomplish great things.

Volunteers in the South Hampton Roads community to nonprofit organizations and schools complete tasks such as landscaping, painting, gardening and direct client support. Participating in Day of Caring promotes workplace unity, builds morale and shows leadership in the community.

Day of Caring is a fun filled day of hard work, excitement, and neighbors helping neighbors to help build and maintain a stronger South Hampton Roads community. For more information, visit their website here.
