NORFOLK, VA-The Old Dominion wrestling team will kick off their home schedule tomorrow with the Old Dominion Invitational, featuring six of the regions' top teams.

Competing in the tournament tomorrow are: Delaware State, Davidson, TCC-Norfolk, Shippensburg State and ODU. Last season the Monarchs cleaned house in the Invitational, winning five weight classes and capturing three runner-up spots.

Grappling ace Jeff Rusak (Reading, PA), who currently sports a 100-17 career record, will be one of the Monarchs to watch during the tournament. Rusak captured the CAA title at 174 last year and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the third year in a row.

Others to keep an eye on are local products Paul Jimenez (Norfolk, VA) and Jesse Pearce (Norfolk, VA). Jimenez won the CAA title at 125 back in 1999 and will be moving up to 133 this year. Pearce finished as the conference runner-up at 157 and should be a frontrunner for the title again in 2001-2002.
