Nov. 17, 2001 NORFOLK, VA-The Monarch wrestling squad took first place in six of ten weight classes today at the Old Dominion University Invitational. Eight schools took part in the tournament, which is the annual home-schedule kick off for the Monarchs. Jeff Rusak (Reading, PA) highlighted the performance by the ODU wrestlers today, becoming just the second four-time champ in school history. Matt Small (Chesapeake, VA) and freshman Casey Todd (Monroe, NY) were also impressive, turning in dominating performances at 184 and 149 respectively. Small kicked off the day with a pin over Newport-News Apprentice's Josh Gosick and a 13-3 win over Chad Malone of Howard. The senior then dispatched Davidson's Jeff Libersat 13-0 in the championship match to claim his first ODU Invite title.
